Hi all,

I am using Legato PE 6.1.1 on AIX 4.3.3

The server machine's name is node4. It is been taking the backup till today from the last 4 months. But when I checked in nwadmin today I find last 2 days backup was written to "Default" tape instead of Tuesday and Wednesday tape. This setup has 4 systems connected and only this server machine has this problem.

Other machines dat were written to the correct tape. And when I checked the nwrecover only 2 days data were available for this particular node (node4).

And when I checked the /nsr/index...

For node1 it is
/nsr/index/node1/db6

For node2
/nsr/index/node2/db6...

But for node4

/nsr/index/node4/db6 &

/nsr/index/node4/node4./db6 (notice the dot) and in /etc/hosts of node4 it was "node4.".

So i stopped the Legato and corrected in /etc/hosts of node4 to node4. Then started legato, now its index is shown 0, and there is no data in nwrecover also. Other nodes are OK.

But the files are there in /nsr/index/node4 and /nsr/index/node4/node4.

How to resolv this problem to make use of this backup to be shown in Online - indexes.

Thanks in advance.

Have you tried reversing the chages you have made, it sounds like your problem was backups going to wrong tapes not name resolution.
In either case the Index is now not being correctly read.
try running nsrck -F or by cleint name to check it.
check Pool setting to allow node4 to use default tapes.

Hi all
Thank you for your feedbacks.

But I removed the index for all nodes, and used the mmrecov to recreate the same. Though the retrieved index was bit earlier index, then I scanned all the remaining tapes. Its fine now.

Thank you! JSiva here...
