index pdf files in a folder and subfolders

hi,
I have a folder that has about 100 subfolders. these folders have files with two formats; PDF and Txt and I want to be able to index the whole pdfs inside of those folders but without manually selecting the individual files. can someone tell me how to do that?

This may be totally off, but if you want to index the PDF and text files for searching, try Wrensoft's Zoom Search Engine. It's available at:

We use it to offer our users the capability to search text within PDF documents.
