Hello,

We are having a problem when the index page initially downloads onto an Explorer based browser, there is a gap in the main underlying graphic bar. Our designer used Dreamweaver. If anyone can take a look at it using MS Explorer, and reply, that would be appreciated. Thanks

the site

where are you seeing the gap. I just looked at the page and it seemed to load fine.

If you are talking about the white space between the dark blue and the lighter blue, there is something in there called white.gif that might be creating the problem.

Thanks WebGodiva,

If you go to the site using explorer and click refresh, there should be a white gap in the bar, above and to the right of the words investors, jobs....

Thanks

hmmm....

I checked the page also and it seems to be fine even after refreshing, clearing my cache and refreshing again. You may want to check your screen size if you havent done so already I am viewing at 1024 x 768.

The only other thing I can suggest is to check your alignment it seems to be ok but everything is right aligned and if one image is a little to small then it would generate white space.

Justin.

P.S. I notice you may have some job opportunities listed on your website. Have a look at as I am always looking for freelance work.

You're not going nuts... it reall does do that.
When you click on refresh for your site, IE is downloading the pics again -1830 bytes 243x104 pixels
206 bytes 57x104 pixels
6022 bytes 300x104 pixels

The gap is between mid2.gif and mission.gif. Mission is the largest of the three files and until it is finished downloading after refresh, there is a pause before information will fill that gap.

You might try creating one pic or stretching the mid2.gif if it really bothers you. It's about a 3 to 4 second pause with a 56K connection.

Hope that helps a bit.

Jim...

The thing that doesn't make sense about this is that the background for the cell is set, so that should cover up the white space. Had a look at the code and found that your table has three columns, but there is a row with only one cell defined and no colspan attribute...

<tr>
<td width=243 bgcolor=ffffff valign=bottom height=34><br></td>
</tr>

Try adding the colspan=&quot;3&quot; attribute and see if that fixes things up.

Thanks everyone for your assistance, we will try some of the methods and see if it works.
