Hi,

I'm using apache 1.3.20 on win2k. Never had any problems except now suddenly my index.php page does not display automatically. I have tp physically type in the index page: The part I do not understand is why it works with other directories eg: . When using all i get is a blank page:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC &quot;-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN&quot;>
<HTML><HEAD>
<META http-equiv=Content-Type content=&quot;text/html; charset=windows-1252&quot;></HEAD>
<BODY></BODY></HTML>

please help
thanx ######## CtN ########

Do you have index.php in your httpd.conf file?

# DirectoryIndex: Name of the file or files to use as a pre-written HTML
# directory index. Separate multiple entries with spaces.
#
<IfModule mod_dir.c>
DirectoryIndex index.html index.htm index.php
</IfModule>

don't worry i found the problem. someone was screwing around with the server and put a index.html in the htdocs root dir. index.html has precedence over index.php.

thanx anyway ######## CtN ########

I found that the order you list the indexes in httpd.conf file is the precedence. It searches in order from left to right. Put index.php first and that should resolve the issue if it happens again.
