Hi

I have recently upgraded Legato networker from 7.1.1 to 7.1.2.

Some time after the upgrade I am getting the following error message in Networker Administrator:

09/14/04 12:40:09 nsrd: index warning: Filesystem containing file index for client 'tlmawfc020001.tluser.tlroot.ads' is getting full.

09/14/04 13:40:59 nsrd: index warning: Filesystem containing file index for client 'jnp0x134fil0008.infracojnplimited.co.uk' is getting full

I get the same error message for differant servers. The index folder with in nsr is 26 GB. I have also checked on the drive Legato is installed and it has space available.

I have tried running the following commands:
nsrck -X
nsrck -F
nsrim -X

but the problem still persist.

Please could some one advise what I should do.

Regards

Up to NW 5.x the reason for that message was that there was not enough space for the index to be copied on the same disk. This was necessary if the index needed to be fixed or compressed (reclaim space).

As there is a different mechanism since NW 6.0 this should not be necessary any longer but it could be that NW still uses the same criteria to generate this message.

Solution: Move your index(es) to a directory with more empty space:
- Stop the NW daemons
- Move the CFI index(es) to a new location
- Restart NW
- For each NW CFI you moved, adjust its hidden "Index path" attribute appropriately.
- To test, browse the index or run "nsrinfo clientname"

Hi

I have currently got over 12 gig free on that drive

Regards

Could it be that your largest client file index is bigger?

I'm getting the same error for numarous servers.

The largest client index is 140 mb, rest of them range between 10 and 100mb.

Ingar, can you confirm that you have less than 140mb empty space on your /nsr partition.

Yes I've got more than 140 m free on the nsr partition

Networker does require free space in /nsr. What does Legato
have to save about your error message? The way I see it the
choices are:

a.) More space is actually needed in /nsr.
b.) The message is automatic and erroneous.
c.) The message is automatic and the threshold can be configured.

I must say I'd lean toward option a. While you have free
space more may be required under load or when do restores.
For example, NDMP backups and restores require space in /nsr.

Legato could tell you if its b or c ?
