Index in XP OFFICE 2

I have a long document (3.6 Mb) written with MS Word 2002. It has a comprehensive INDEX. I recently changed to XP OFFICE. Now the index is non-functional. It will not allow me to click on an entry which should take me to the item in the body of the document. Is there any way I can fix this to enable the index to function. Thank you. Eddie2

I think you could try to hold CTRL down when you click on references.

Hi eddie2,
In Tools | Options | Edit, you can deselect "Use CTRL + Click to follow hyperlink" and then it should work without using the CTRL key.
