I'm working on a 300+ page book (yearbook) in Indesign and was wondering if there was another way to index besides opening all 300 pages (nearly impossible to do.)

Index in Indesign CS

I'm having a problem with the InDesign indexing feature, too. I'm working on an 8 chapter book, which I have set up as documents in a book file. I've opened all the documents in the book file, and got a list of topics set up in the index palette. When I run the "generate index" feature, it creates a file with the heading "index" at the top, and runs the alphabet down the side, but it doesn't show any of my topics or any page numbers. What am I doing wrong? I'm SO frustrated! Please help!
