I am not fluent at all with Flash and I have a new webmaster who is just now learning Flash and HTML. He is also using FrontPage... (oh well, if it helps right now, what the heck!)

We have a Flash "movie" in our start-up web page that shows up great on any version of Windows Internet Explorer. Only the jpg in the HTML shows up if you are running Mozilla or anything under Linux and the Flash will not show up on Mac OSX. The Flash Plugins are installed on our Mozilla test and on the person's (who notified us of this problem) Mac.

The link ->

If someone knowledgable with Mac web browsers and Mozilla could look at it (view source) and give me some pointers, I would be indebted.

Thanks a bunch for any and all help!

You only have an <object> tag in your html. You need to have an <embed> tag also. Publish an html from Flash's Publish feature, you'll see what I mean.

oldnewbie.. thanks, but now I am confused a bit more. Flash produced a Home_Web_Page.html file. Does this file then go into the web directory or do we somehow copy and paste a portion of the file and place it into the index.html file so it will start up. What do we need to modify in the index.html file?

My apologies for being stupid, but we are brand new and doing our best to learn.

Thanks again!

John

You can do either. Use the html outputed by Flash or use your own, but make sure you have at least both the <object> and <embed> tags.

Thanks again! I guess he is getting there. We now have the flash &quot;screen&quot; in the middle of the jpeg background. Earlier he had the flash movie playing but it was not transparent. Our test system has Mozilla 1.2.1 so should support transparency.

Your help was beneficial, but the learnign curve can be steep!

John
