First an apology to Mike3440, who wasted his time searching the WPUniverse, where I misquoted my own entry there using the word "titles" instead of "index" and I have been busy on a large project since. Also user name, suesmith was not available and the entry appeared under a different name. Here is the question:
How do you get the Index function in WP to ignore quotation marks in titles, so that they appear in the correct order in the index? As is, when I include the quotation marks, when "marking" titles, they do appear in alphabetical order in an index, but in a separate list, beneath the list of titles without quotation marks. In other words, what I end up with are two alphabetical lists, one following the other. I have to “mark” such titles inside the quotation marks, which puts them in the correct place in the index, but without the quotes. I then have to manually enter them, each time the index is generated. I have tried the macros that have been offered to me and it is quicker to simply type them in. It seems to me that there must be a way that Corel has dealt with the problem and that I just haven't found the right commands.
