Index Creation Performance Tips

I have a large table (roughly 30 GB) that I need to rebuild. The table has a number of indices. I have already rebuilt the table and am starting to rebuild the indices. It is taking a very long time for the indices to rebuild. It is only on the 2nd index after almost 13 hours. I am going to let this one complete, but does anyone have any tips for increasing performance when building an index? I am running informix version 7.31.FD5.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.
