I have setup a group specifically to backup only client indexes at level full.

All clients are a member of this group and the plan is to runs it once a day at the end of all other groups. I have prohibited index backups for all other daily full and incrementals groups.

How can I backup the indexes only. It seems to me that I have to specify a small saveset (small amount of data) for the indexes to transfer ok.....Or I could use a command line (savegroup -O -l Full -G <groupname>) and windows scheduler but this seems disintegrated.

Thanks

Si

No, there is no possibility. You may set an option to suppress index backups but you can not specify a group to do only index/bootstrap backups.

The two ways you mentioned are possible alternatives.

Can't you create a directive to backup *.res +nsrindexasm:db +nsrmmdbasm:mmvolume then backup saveset D:/nsr/index...We are led to believe that this will backup the index of all servers specified...??

I don't think so because the local directives in these directories will override such settings.
