InDesign Update 1

I am running IDCS on a P4 PC with 512MB RAM. I have tried to use the "Updates" feature in InDesign with no luck. I went to the Adobe Forums and tried to get an answer there, also with no luck. It seems that most people who have trouble with the updates feature manage to fix it by first connecting to the Adobe site and then running the updates. My problem is that when I choose "Updates" from the Help Menu it tells me I have "No connection to the Internet is available" We connect to the Internet via a T1 line. I know that there is a firewall here at work and I understand that could be the problem. Someone on the Adobe site suggested that I download the patch and then run it but I can't seem to find a realiable source to download it from. Just wondering if anyone else had this problem and if there is a fix to it. Or, does anyone know of a reliable source for me to download the 3.01 patch? Thanks!

I would ask this and complain directly to Adobe Customer Service. Their new CS update system is unconventional and they need to hear from their customers that it does not work.

Navigate to:

ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/manifest/indesign/

Grab the IDCS updater for InDesign and/or the ICCS updater for InCopy.
