I posted this over in the InDesign forum, but I thought maybe you guys would have some idea on this as well. I've got a really fun problem. I'm using InDesign 1.5, and I have just learned the print shop needs my file to be in Pagemaker format. Does anybody have any idea how I can make this happen, short of doing the whole magazine layout over? I am trying not to panic but I see now way to export backwards from InDesign. :(

Hi

I'm sorry but there is no way you can convert a InDesign file to pagemaker. But perhaps you can ask yhe print shop if they can handle pdf-files. Than you can export from indesign to pdf.

Another possibility is to export to pdf anyway. Do this page by page.
Then open pagemaker and use the place command to place each pdf file on a pagemaker page.

Hope this helps

Thanks, those are some good suggestions. Darn, how could Adobe be so stupid...

Hi,

well I think they are not so stupid, they sell 2 different programms to the same person if he wants to be multi organised.

Two different programs with different formatting features. You can open PM docs in ID, but not vice versa, which makes sense.

I would seek a print shop that will accomodate you and get ID, since it is Adobe's flagship DTP application. Or, as Grillhouse as said, conver to PDF and then there is no problem. Any printshop that will not accept PDF is suspect, anyway.

Just my 2 cents. When in doubt, deny all terms and defnitions.
