I am working on a 700+ page scientific journal, creating it in InDesign CS. In the past it has been printed and hard bound; however, this year they have decided to PDF it and put it on a CD. As a result, they want the hyperlinks to be included.

I've had no problem making URL's and mailto's work (although I don't like the way it opens a blank browser page before opening the mail form) ... but I am having a problem with making a "button" that will open a larger version of a graphic. I finally found the instructions buried in the help program, and the external graphic now opens just fine, but when it does it closes the document that called it. I get the following error message:

"One of the actions closed the document. The actions following that action were not executed. To execute all actions, move the action that closes the document to the end."

The only action I have attached to the button is the action to go to an anchor I have created in the external document.

Is there something I am missing? I suppose I could have a button in the external graphic file that would return to the original document, but that seems rather clunky ... all I want is for the external graphic to open in a new window so the original document stays open.

Any suggestions would really be appreciated ...
