I am trying to make a PDF for a document which only uses Black (one color). However when I make a postscript file and export it to PDF - it gives me CMYK Seperations. Is there any way to have just one Black sepration?

Is there anything on the CMY channels/plates?

When you get the ID print dialogue, select Postscript as the printer and Adobe pdf as the PPD. Then click on the Output section. Under Color select Composite grayscale. Then make the pdf and distill.

If you want a shortcut. Select Adobe PDF as your printer and go to Output and select grayscale.

Using OSX 10.3.8 on a G4
