I know nothing about indesign.

We need to product documents in a '4-up' manner to be sent to our printer. We have a database program that creates bills and customer docunets in .pdf files. For each customer we need to merge the 4 pages of the 'bill' into a single 'page' of a document.

We have thousands of customers to do. We use the merge command? function? to do this. We end up with an out of memory error. We're going to move the process to a more robust machine but it seems to me like we're always going to have troubl with this. Any thoughts?

Since the DB creates pdfs, are they still data? It would seem that they would become objects.

Since they're already pdfs, you might get a better reslt by opening the pdfs in Acrobat Pro and "print" them 4 up using Adobe pdf as your printer.

Using OSX 10.3.9 on a G4
