InDesign locked

Hi, it's the first time I used this site. Hope that's gonna help.
Someone, send me a file INDD, I can open it, but I can do nothing with it.
Everything's locked... Have you ever saw that problem.

Edit menu/Select All then Object menu/Unlock.

Usually you lock things so people can't accidentally move them.

have you checked the layers palette, a sure sign of things being locked is if your cursor is a pencil with a line through it, if so, go to the layers palette and click on the icon next to the eye symbol...

...then if need be go to the object menu and unlock the items...

Try going to Layout menu/layout adjustment. In the window Enable and make sure that all the boxes, except maybe Ignore Ruler Guides, are checked and see if that helps.

If things are still locked up, try clicking on any item like a text box or graphic. and see what the Links palette says. I'm just wondering if maybe you have something like a bunch of pdfs inserted in the ID doc instead of separate direct ID objects.

If you have separate objects, try clicking on one and unlocking just that one. If the doc has layers make sure you're on the right one.

I went in the Layout adjustement and all box are checked except the ignore Ruler Guides.

When I'm clicking on a box or on an image nothing's happen. I looked in the layers and in the links. Nothing's !!!

I'm wondering if the files not corrumpted ???
I have 3 files and 3 are like that... I tought then if they are corrumpted I was not able to open it, so I'm able to open it... I don't know!!! Mysterious thing, I never saw that before.

maybe the elements you want to select are on the master pages?

If so, if you want to select them in your document use the Option/shift (mac) CTRL/shift and click on the element. That unlocks it from the master page.
