Goal - To be able to export Indesidn CS files to pdf with no font errors, and to open files and not have them lock and say read only or open by another user.
I am using win xp, Indesign CS, ATM deluxe
Questions -
First - I am trying to export an indesign file to pdf and I get an error that the Gill Sans and some other Gill fonts can't be embedded and something about security, I am at home now and can't remember the exact error. When it finishes and I open the pdf it is all messed up. The same thing happens when I print to pdf or distiller, get the same font error. I am able to use this font in other applications fine. I am a new user to Indesign.
Second - On this same document, when I closed it and exited Indesign it keeps the file open and puts some weird file in the same directory with a ~ next to it. When me or anyone else trys to open it, it says this file is read only or open by another person. I had my network admin check and he says it shows I am the one who still have the file open, it also shows that I have this other file with the ~ in it open. What is this???? Did I lock it up and now can't open it? I have rebooted and it still shows open and locked.
I have tried calling Adobe for support but they will not help unless I pay 39.95. Anyone who can help or email me would be greatly appreciated.
