Hi,
I'm a new CS user (very new!) and have been passed a .indd template I'd like to use. Wehn I try to open it I get error messages relating to plug-in upgrade. I have upgraded my CS with the patch: CS 3.0.1 April 2005 (CS2 Compatibility) update but it still won't open the indd file and displays two error boxes the underlying saying "Can't open file" and at the top of the error box it displays "InDesign Content Manager", and the one in the foreground just says the plug-ins need upgrading to the latest blah blah

I've read a couple of related posts but no use. Tried to find a copy of worldready.apln just in case but no luck.

Am I doing something wrong? I assume the indd files are multi platform.... I'm using pc.

Can ayone help?

Thx

If the original file was saved in CS2 you won't be able to open it in CS. The original (CS2) file has to be exported as an INX (inDesign Interchange) file. You do this the same way as you would export a pdf (file>export).

If the ID file uses a plugin or script that you don't have, it either might not open or open with goofs.

Search your computer for "worldready" to see if it's installed. If not load your install cd and look for an Extras folder as Adobe often puts such a folder on the cds.

It sounds like something to do with international use like spelling or text attributes. I use ID CS on a mac. I searched for worldready and didn't come up with anything.
