I'm using WinNT 4.0 and Word 97.
I've got a 45 page document in Word 97. I've added 18 endnotes (not footnotes) to the document. I recently had to add another and got a message to wait for Word for pagination. It then immediately started counting thousands of pages. I stopped it, undid the endnote, but the problem was embedded somehow. I tried saving as an older version, even word perfect and RTF. I tried the file on a friends computer and on my home PC (Win 98, Word 97). Nothing seemed to change.
Today, I converted the endnotes to footnotes and the pagination stopped, it showed 40+ pages.
I need the endnotes, footnotes are unacceptable. Can anyone advise me how to correct the endnote problem?
