Incremental Backup to Disk?

I'm curious...

I am reading that Arcserve SP3+ will now allow backup to disk. If I do a full backup to a disk, that will give me a copy of my original disk. Then can I do an incremental backup of the same original disk to the same destination disk? Will Arcserve "apply" the changes to the already exisitng copy? With these incremental backups, will my destination disk still be a copy of the disk I am backing up?

Thanks in advance,
Debi

Debi,

ARCserve with SP3 doesn't have the backup-to-disk patch applied. It can still be found on :
as a separate patch or by applying sp4.

The disk device behaves exactly as a tape drive. you can perform a full backup and then apply incremental backups by using the append option for backup media. The 'disktape' will have a capacity that is equal to the free space on the volume it's installed on.

regards
