Increasing default maximum number of logical partitions

I use AIX 4.2
Iwanted to increase the logical volume by 200mb but had the following error:
0516-787 extendlv. max. allocation for logical volume siclv3 is 512.
What is the effect of going beyond the default of 512.
The following info may be helpful
pp size 16megabytes
Total pps 542 (8672 megabytes)
Free pps: 33 (528 megabytes)
Used pps: 509 (8144 megabytes)

what are you lp's set at

chlv -x 525 siclv3

Effect: ups the max limit for your LV so that you can increase its size.

BTW : add 200MB is not possible with 16MB PP size, either 192MB (12 PPs) or 208MB (13 PPs).
