Hi all,
How can I increase the size of the root and /usr directories??
Here is my info:
I am running Digital UNIX v4.0G on an ES40, (It is a new system that we had about 3 weeks ago), The system disk is 18.2GB, the / partition on it is only using 64MB, and the /usr partition is using 128MB, and the rest of the disk is unused.
What I need to do, is change the sizes of the partitions and also add a swap partition to that disk.
I know I have to backup the / and /usr somewhere and then dump them back after resizing. The problem is I DON'T KNOW A SAFE WAY TO DO IT!!!
I have another 18.2 GB drive that is connected through a fiber switch and HSG80 controller...
Please ADVICE!!!

Ok guys,
I finally did it by getting another hard drive, partitioning it, and dumping all the / and /usr partition on it, making sure I can boot from it if something wrong happened.
Then I partitioned my original drive the way I needed, and restored everything again.

You can find the procedure in the Guide to File System Administration Manual
