Increase piture quality by higher dpi

i am trying to increase the quality of some imported png files by increasing the dpi.

Does anyone have any ideas or tips on getting better quality shockwaves?

Kind of what I am looking for,

how can I maintain a high level of dpi for the flash movie and keep it the same dimensions. When you inrease the dpi is just seems to make the picture bigger.
