increase performance on VNB 5.1 MP3

Hi all I have a VNB 5.1 MP3 with Solaris9 and L100 with SDLT 320 drives. when start ajob backup the speed is slow, i try with the suggestions buffer_sz and other.
Anyone know any doc about tuning of veritas nb 5.1
