Increase Mouse Speed?

How can I increase my mouse speed faster than the fastest setting in the mouse control panel?

I am running Windows XP Pro, and a Microsoft Intellimous Optical through USB port.

So, you went to "Mouse Properties"
> Pointer Options
and then you cranked it all the way to FAST ?

At that point, it is still to slow ?

Yes, it is still too slow. I would really like it to be set higher so I don't need to move the move so far around the mouse pad to move my cursor across the screen.

do you have the intellimouse sofware installed?

It might help to set the acceleration to high also. That would increase speed as you move. Just a thought.
