How do I increase lines on a Merlin Legend R 7.0 processor? I have a 800 GS/LS card placed on the fifth slot. First four slots are consist of 016 MLX cards. All the extensions are working fine. None of the lines on the card are working. I am not sure how to work those lines. Can someone please help me with that? Thanks alot in advace.

If you just added the 800 GS/LS card - you need to do a system renumber. How is your system set up? square? or hybrid/PBX? If all you have are single line telephoens - how do want to assign the lines to the phones? Will the lines be in "pools"? or will you assign certain lines to certain phones? Line assignment to specific phones is normally done through extension programming.

System is a test system set up in my tech room. ANS: Square, Not all single line phones, lines are not in pools. I just figured that the merlin legend operated on the same principle as the ACS Processor did. On the ACS Processor you can increase the line capacity by doing a simple function. Was wondering if this was the same as with the legend.

I am not sure what you mean by "increase line capacity". If the lines were in pools and you added a line card - you could increase the number of lines per pool. Since you are running the system in "square" mode - it means that all 8 lines are being assigned to each phone. Since this a "test" system - why don't you just assign a single line (801) to the first extension and try it out. With single line phones - if you assign more than one outside line per extensions - you need to use a dial code to access the additional lines. By default a single line phone will go to "intercom". You can change that to an outside line or just dial *9 to access whatever line you assign to the phone. But before you assign lines to esxtensions you still may need to do a board renumber - if the 800 GS/LS board was added after the other ones
