increase length of a rectangle

Hi, I have Flash 5 and am pretty new to it all.
I want to give the appearance of a scroll or roll of paper rolling open downwards. I've got the top staying still and the bottom curl going down ok and I thought I could use a rectangular shape fixed at the top edge and extending downwards to give the impression of the page being revealed. Problem is I can't see how to make the bottom of the rectangle to grow downwards. Can anyone tell me how to do this? Am I taking the right approach?

Make the rectangle it's own movie clip. Be sure that the registration point is set to 0,0 and then just use the free transform tool to increase the size.
