Incorrectly stating disk full server 2003

Hey Guys,

I have a server 2003 ent box working as a file server. It is reporting that it's out of space on the C drive, disk management is reporting 0 free space.

The kicker is that if I right click all the files (yes hidden file view is enabled) it reports 3.35gb is used out of 10gb.

So what's going on? Is the size reporting off? Is this is a bad way to check on how much of a disk is being used?

restarting it fixed the problem, but I'd still like to know what caused it and how to prevent it next time.
