Could someone please tell me what I am doing wrong in the statement:

SUM(CASE WHEN paycode IN (1,2,3) THEN
(d.billunits*d.billrate/(d.payunits*d.payrate)) ELSE 0 END

You're closing your ) in the wrong place.

SUM(CASE WHEN paycode IN (1,2,3) THEN (d.billunits*d.billrate)/(d.payunits*d.payrate) ELSE 0 END)
