I have a file created in Paradox version 4 that I would like to view/import into Microsoft Access 2002 (XP). Everytime I try to open the file in Access, I get an error message "incorrect collating sequence". Can someone help me

What version of MS Access and at what point during the import do you get this error message?

Rupin:

Sorry I didn't notice that you'd posted the version of Access orignally. Here is the error message from MS Access. I found this by clicking on Help and selecting "Find."

You tried to link a Paradox table that was created with an international sort order that isn't the same as the one you are using.

I'm assuming this means that Access is trying to resolve the difference in dates or some other field format that is dependant on differing standards.

Looked at that, changed the sort order, no joy. Took it to a colleague who has Access 2000 and they opened it no problem. I think it has something to do with Jet drivers but I really am not sure.

Ah...you might want to compare your references to the other guy's. To do this open a form or module in the design view and select Tools | References.

This will give you a list of references regarding the DAO or Jet engine. Compare your's to the other guys and add any that you don't have that he does. Do this by checking off those references you don't have.

Be sure to do a Compile and Save all Modules from the Debug menu.
