Three out of four machines in our small network are
displaying Alt key characters incorrectly.
For instance Alt 163 shows a Heart character instead of
the U Acute (ú). The problem ia also with the ANSI code
page (eg Alt 0224 or Alt 0128).
Its as if part of the code page translation file is corrupted.
Its possible that a file may have been corrupted during
a virus infection.
All help gratefully received

Does this occur regardless of the font you're using? We thought we were having a similar problem here, but then realized that it was only in a certain set of typefaces.

Thanks, but I'm pretty sure that the problem occurs with
all fonts (but I will check it again on Monday).
The problem occurs in all apps. where you can use
the Alt +nnnn keys. Also the code page settings seem ok.
