My priv1.stm and priv1.edb files have beend eleted. I have older copies of these files on my server. I copied and pasted them into my MDBDATA folder, but when I tried to mount the store I got the following error:

ID# c1041739
Exchange System Manager
Database files in this store are inconsistent

How can I correct this?

Hi Suzanne,

Try this again but follow these steps

Stop your Information Store

1. Rename your MBDATA folders to MDBDATA.OLD, these may exist on multiple drives

2. Create new MDBDATA folder(s)

3. Copy your saved Priv1.edb and Priv1.stm files and any pub1.edb and pub1.stm files to your MDBDATA folder

4. Go to the properties of the Mailbox store and public folder store (if applicable) and go to the database tab. Check the box that says "this database can be overwritten by a restore"

5. Start your Information Store and mount your databases

If this still fails, then note any events that you receive in the application log. Please repost these and include the Event ID, Source and Description.

This will be helpful in troubleshooting.
