I am currently running GP 8.0 client on my PC and I am experiencing issues when trying to print from GP. I am able to print from all other programs on my PC without any issues.

Example - I brought up a trial balance and printed it to the screen and it came up with 52 pages total. I then selected to print the document out to my local laser printer. It begins printing and everything looks great, but it stops after printing 18 pages every single time.

I have reinstalled GP on my PC and I still experience the same issue. We have about 50 other PC's running GP and none of them are experiencing any issues with printing.

Any suggestions you have would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

I seem to recall I had a problem like this way back in 5.0 days...

I believe the end of troubleshooting was to reformat the machine and start from scratch.

Are there any VBA customisations on the report?

There is a situation where VBA accessing ADO and SQL opens and closes a connection in the body and causes the report to fail.

If this is the case you have to open the connection in the Report_Start() event and close it in the Report_End() event and then just use it in the body.

What kind of printer is it? A lot of the GP reports create HUGE files that are spooled to the printer. If the printer cannot handle a file that large, you get the results you're describing. We have a customer that can print 48 checks in a batch. If they try to print 49, it doesn't work. Sometimes it's not the printer, but the print server or spooler, but the basic idea is that the file is too large. Might not be the issue in your case, but something to check.

Thank you for all of the suggestions.

The user actually had this same issue with a previous PC, but at one point I had to set her up with a temp PC and she was able to print her batches normally from that PC. Once we returned her PC to her though the same issue cropped up again.

She has now received a new PC and currently is not experiencing any issues with printing from GP.

Thanks again for all the help.
