ARCServe vers. 9.0 build 2100 (windows)
we run a daily incremental backup each nite...each morning i check the log i get several warnings:

W3301: Unable to find directory. (DIR=D:\Config.Msi, EC=FILE NOT FOUND)

AE0005:Directory C:\WINDOWS\LastGood does not exist

AW3401: Unable to find file. (FILE=C:\UNCFGENG.EXE, EC=FILE NOT FOUND)

AW0004: Failed to open file <C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL\Data\templog.ldf>, RC=32, The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process

long story, short...we've set the job to exclude these files but for some reason it contintues to look for them, any thoughts on how to eliminate these messages w/out having to redo the job (other than those messages, the jobs are running fine)

I've seen the problem before and I think it's a caching issue. The way I got round it is as follows.

If it's the C:\config.msi file you want to stop the error for, modify the job and de-select the entire c: drive from the tree. Then collapse the c: branch and click on the level above (usually the server name). Give it a few seconds then click on the c: branch again. This clears the cache for that leg and then shows you the updated list. From here select what you want to backup.

alternatavly, try setting a filter on the job to exclude the file patterns

*.ldf
*.mdf
config.Msi
etc

This will stop the backup reporting these errors in future.
