I'm getting incomplete back-ups but there are no errors or warnings in the activity log. Note: There is a fix for this for 6.6 users but NOT 6.61.

Burf -

I was having 'Incomplete Backup' issues a while back. I was running a complete backup each evening, yet now matter what I modified or changed settings/options with the backup job, the next morning, I would still have the "Incomplete" notice.

I finally deleted the backup job. From scratch, rebuilt another full backup job. Under the options, I changed the retry attempt count from 3 to 5 (for some SQL files that always failed on first & second attempts) and the time between retry attempts to 15 seconds. Perhaps creating a new backup job from scratch would help your situation as well.

Good Luck ~

Are there any files at all that don't backup? Are you running any agents? Are they installed properly? If you're running the Exchange agent, check it's log. Did you check the Arcserve log? Sometimes the arcserve.log tells you more than the activity log----its located in the arcserve\log directory. Good luck--ArcServe can be a royal pain. Even when its running right, it doesn't seem to last very long.

Ive been having the same kind of problem. The log will say the backup was incomplete but prior to that everything seems to be completed. I tried deleting the job and creating from scratch but periodically I still see the same incomplete backup message. I can't find any reason for the message in any of my logs.

I have a similar problem. I am running version 6.6 (Build 795) for Windows NT with the Lotus Notes Agent. All backup selections are configured at the root level (i.e. C:\, D:\, etc.) as per ArcServe instructions. I have created filters to deselect any files or directories that I don't want to backup. The problem is, any time someone deletes a file that is not included in a "do not backup" filter, the log file reports an Incomplete the next day. If, after a couple of days, no one has deleted any files, the log file will begin to report Successful. Interestingly, however, if someone creates a new file, I am able to successfully perform a test restore of the new file from the next day's tape. So I know that the backup is dynamically selecting and backing up any new files that are added. How can I get this darned thing to quit reporting the Incomplete (which seems to occur 18 days out of 20) every time the system wants to backup a file that someone has deleted?
