Incompatible RCP Stub - can't repair

Hi Guys and gals,

Something has screwed up on my IE6 download, and I frequently now get the error message 'Incompatible version of RCP stub'. This happens when I do EDIT-SEARCH and also when I try to print pages from the Internet, including Outlook Express. Also when I try to download and install new programmes. I removed IE6 and the same happens in IE 5 too.

I've tried to download the microsoft fix file mcrepair.exe but it won't run. Trying to repair IE 6 or download it again doesn't work, everything just feezes up. What next? Any advice gratefully received.
