Having a plethora of errors with Networker 6.0.1 on Solaris. Have an ATL P7000 library with LTO drives, and keep getting "Incompatible medium" errors occasionally. Have to remove label and relable them to be recognized again in Networker. Also get block size errors on verifies and also a jukebox error - "SJI failure[0x 29]: I/O error".

Has anyone encountered any one or combination of these errors?

Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks

I've seen the SJI Failure [0x 29] on Windows 2000, with NW 6.0.2 and NW 6.1.1. Librarys begin ATL P2000 and P3000 SAN-attached to Compaq hardware. I'm afraid I'm in the dark as to the reasons why too...

Anyone managed to get rid of them??

We have so many input/output errors in daemon.log everyday also. However, after my investigation, I found that all of these errors are because the Networker server issue two “nsrjb” commands at exactly the same time. How can they expect a tape library load two tapes simultaneously even I have enabled the fastload feature??? Networker server do create the error itself and I don’t think it is a hardware problem.

The log below is an example of those input/output errors:

You can reproduce the problem if you load two tape in separate DOS prompt.

1. You should upgrade to NetWorker V6.0.3 or V6.1.2

2. Make sure that your st driver is patched up.
Goto sunsolve.sun.com. Search for keyword "LTO".
Then find the link for the st driver patch.
Check and see if the patch level is at the level that
supports LTO devices. Note: installing this patch
will put a new /kernel/drv/st.conf in your system, so
make sure you make a backup of this file

3. Edit the st.conf to include the proper settings for LTO

4. ru jbverify to test you jukebox.
