Is it possible to have the name and number displayed on MLX sets when an incoming call arrives using a PRI? Provider is Nuvox. I've searched and have conflicting answers. Some say yes, some no. Which is it? Since the sites search feature is still MIA, I can't find the thread that explains it.

They also want to have the users DID displayed as the calling number on the recipient end of a call, instead of the main listed #. So if ext. 3498 calls out, the number the receiver should see on incoming would be xxx-xxx-3498. Is there something I can change in the switch to do this?

Thanks!

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe that with ISDN service, only the calling party's telephone number will be passed on from the provider.

The Merlin Legend and Merlin Magix will only support Caller ID Number, not Name.

Just to clarify what Telecomboy mentioned... Magix/Legend will only show caller ID number when using a PRI.

When using POTS lines you can have caller ID name and number with the correct trunk cards but the display will only show one or the other at a time. To switch the display you you a programmed button or feature code to toggle.

As for sending the DID for outbound calls, you would set that in the PRI programming "Number to Send" and would select base number+extension. I'm sure someone will post the exact steps if you aren't familiar with how to do that. If not, I will later when I have a little more time.

You should find most of the info you are looking for on this thread: thread689-1166696 Number-to-send options on ISDN PRI.

But there are some gotchas to be mindful of, for instance, are your DID numbers all the same number range, or are they broken ranges or mixed NXXs, or is the main number a different NXX than the DID number block?

Are ALL the stations going to have DID number assignments?

What info was not covered in the thread, can be found in documentation downloadable in PDF from support.avaya.com

Hope this helps!
