Bear with me... I know very little about this switch...

I'm getting a report from one of our remote offices, stating: "The receptionist telephone can not be answered unless the incoming line button is pressed first.

Can this be fixed?

I'm not sure if this is a normal condition or not. Does it sound like they are looking to just be able to pick up the handset and rec've the call?

Thanks all,
CJH

I bet her extension is set to "no ring" on incoming calls. Do calls actually ring the phone or do they just flash on inbound calls? My bet is that they just flash in which case you would have to press the line in order to answer it. The Partner will automatically answer the ringing line if the extension is set to ring.

To change this, from extension 10:

Feature 00, Left Intercom Button Twice, Right Intercom button once, then enter the extension number (I assume it is 10- but enter whatever the extension is question is). Each line will start blinking to show what state they are in (ring, no ring, or delay ring). I bet they are fast-fluttering which is no-ring. Just press each line until they are solid green (this is immediate ring). Feature 00 will exit from programming.

Thanks guys - now I have the manual as well.

Thanks again,
CJH

ALS will affect outgoing calls. Immediate Ringing will affect incoming calls. Make sure the extension is not in DND or Forwarded.
