Incoming indicator light on and no dial tone

Hi,
In option 11C, telephone set M3902. only 3-4 sets out of 150
extensions give this problem.

Suddenly incoming indicator light gets on and then there is no dial
tone. If we unplug it and again connect dial tone is returned.

Try a firmware upgrade through the switch. Most odd problems I find with the 3000 series phones are fixed with
a firmware upograde.

Yeah i do belive in firmware upgrae..

Else the other suggestion is try to re-create those TN's

If it is always the same TNs then the Digital card is probable going bad. Consider replacing it.

Your Digital cards are most likely OK, but check RLS to be current. For 3900 series Phones be sure you have the latiest Firmware for these Units. You can Run a LD 32
.FSUM ALL, be sure your printer is on and the print out will give you the Firmware Version on your switch Disk and the version on all 3900 series phones in order.

If you have a lot of missmatched versions, you need to set up your switch to flash/update your phones after your mid-night routine, say about 1AM-7:00AM. The system will flash one phone per shelf (10 shelves 10 phones) at a time, until all phones are current. Good Idea to always go to LD 32 and .FDLS to start the program at night, system will say Building Tree.... takes about 10min. Takes about 14-15min per phone when you flash one.

Please note, even with the correct version of software or Firmware, there is no guarantee you will not have sleepers, (Sleepers have a good display but no dialtone). When you have a call for NDT(No Dial Tone), go to LD 11 or 20, find the TN, Go to LD 32 and .IDU space TN XX XX XX XX, if the swith does not come back with the Phones ID, it will need to be reset at the unit. Sometimes you can enable the Shelf, but if you can not see it in LD 32 with the I.D. Unit, it needs to be reset.

Do the math, 15min per phone, How many phones at about 4 per hour?
