With a keycode for Fax Messaging applied, can I connect our company's analog fax line to our BCM50 2.0 and route incoming faxes to our Receptionist's Unified Messaging application? We already can _send_ faxes from all of our desktops.

If it is doable, are there any tricks / pitfalls to setting it up? (I was told that Fax Messaging works only with DID numbers.)

Thanks for any help.

Yes, is easily doable but keep in mind the BCM is limited on fax ports or resources, if you get alot of heavy use this will not be a good solution. 2 ports are normal but can be extended to 4 ports MAX I believe.

Thank you for your help.

Just to confirm, so there is no rule that says we have to use DID numbers?

Our existing analog POTS fax line will work?

We only get 3 to 5 faxes per day.

Thanks again,
-Jim

Yes. Put the fax line on an analog trunk port, assign it as ring only and prime it on the analog station port DN you are using for your fax machine and for sending outbound, give the station port DN direct line access on off hook. No CFanything.

Should do it.
