integration is QSIG - the question is - for an inbound fax, if the caller answers the phone and hears the fax... can they just hang up the call to get the DTMF tone they are hearing connected back into the system, or do they need to do some sort of manual transfer into their mailbox? right now they are hanging up the and losing the fax call. is there a setting for fax that i'm missing in the integration?

first thing we need to determine is the PBX type?

assuming its Avaya, the easiest thing is for the user to transfer the call to their own number, which will force the call to follow the cover path, be answered by MM and then the fax will proceed as it should.

thanks for the reply - reading your response, I can imply that there is no integration between the Avaya PBX and modular messaging where the person can actually answer the call, realize the call is an incoming fax, then just hang up and expect the fax to magically continue into their voicemail account?

correct, if you answer the call on your phone and hangup, you have dropped the call. Something needs to answer the call that can interpret the fax tones and establish the call.

If the call covers to VM with no user intervention, then MM will do this.

Otherwise, the user will need to transfer the call to themselves, whereby there cover path will send the call to VM and the fax will be recieved.
