Strange goings on: I have Exchange 2000 running on Windows 2000 server.
A few days ago I noticed that there was a lot of unexpected "sending traffic" when Exchange server initiated a dial out to the ISP for email.
What I found was that some emails immediately on receipt (usually those where I am on a distribution list) are being passed straight to the outbound SMTP queue and in most cases they don't even appear in the recipient's email box. All other emails are passed to the mailbox correctly.
I have Trend Micro Exchange MailScan, ServerProtect, InterScan running but nothing reported there.
The "Sent from" and "Message Subject" fields show that they are from Bona Fide sources.
I got one email (which did arrive in my mail-box) which had many addresses in the "TO" field and my server queued that email to every one in the "TO" list.
Can anyone please advise?
Many thanks
Doug
