Our main office connects to a Domain Controller or any sever in this remote office and the ping times jump well over 2000. If the remote office connects the DC in the main office everything is fine.

We are running a Firebox X1000 in the main and SOHO 6 in the remote offices. The ISP in the remote office is running a PPPOE bridge. Scrating our heads..

anyone see anything similar

how is the cable modem set up? it is providing aNAT address to your SOHO? if so this may be causing the problem.

NAT shouldnot be the problem but the MTU could be try to reduce the MTU of machene on main office to 1400,1450 or 1460. One of them might help.
