incoming calls to recept on merlin magix wont overflow to aa -5 rings 1

Calls to incomning pots lines ring at recept phone but will not overflow to automated attendant after 5 rings. Calls go to voice mail and transfer back down to same recept phone. Help

Did it ever work correctly?

The "normal" way of doing a delayed auto attendant with copper lines is to assign the lines to an unused calling group, and use time-based overflow to send that group to the voice mail calling group. In the voice mail, you have to create a mailbox that steers the call to the auto attendant.

TT Tommy, thanks will try it. Was setup this way 9 years ago but now they want the backup coverage to aa.
