Is it possible to get a report of all incoming calls to our main number? We have SMDR turned on, and in fact have call accounting software that uses it, but only tracks calls that have long distance charges.

So, I wish to just see how many incoming calls come into our reception set (IP Console) in a one month period. Is this possible?

Thanks!

go into smdr options and turn on incoming calls and anything else you might want recording. You may have to do a custom report in your call accounting software.

That wasn't the question. That is ALL turned on. BUT, our call accounting software is very specific, and only tracks LD calls. I just want a quick and dirty way to get the logs for all calls that go to our IP Console (extension 0), and then total up the minutes in use for a month....

Thanks!

extension report in the call accounting software? Its rubbish call accounting software if it only tracks one type of call.

Well that's exactly the sort of thing your call accounting software is there for. The better solution would be to set up the call accounting software to do that, since any solution that involved getting the data directly from the PBX will require you to manually filter out data and do the math yourself.

Assuming for a moment that you really didn't want to do this via your call accounting package, which I highly recommend doing (it's collecting all of the records, you just have to fiddle with the filters and/or report settings to get the data you want), you would do the following:

Log into either a telnet session or the web console/ESM and go to "Maintenance Commands".
Type in "logs read smdr all match 0"
The system will display every records in the SMDR logs (20,000 records) that has a "0" in it.
Copy and paste that output to your favorite text editor, filter out the matches that hit on the "0" but aren't calls that actually went to DN 0.
Of the remaining records, add up the call lengths manually.

As you can see, massaging the call accounting software to give you the data you want will be the easier way to get this done.

Well if you do in fact have all options configured in SMDR options and in all the involved COS, then you should be able to get the info from your call accounting software. It will only be giving you reports on LD but has no choice but to collect all SMDR from the PBX. Basically it will have to look at all SMDR logs and then applies a filter to get only long distance call records ( that is unless it uses some type of Mitai link to only track particular calls which I doubt it has ). So find the directory on the CDR software where it stores the dailey file and it should be a text file. If you have access copy the file to another computer and have fun tracking the calls.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.
