Hi I am still new to Nortel cs1k, I want to block all calls (internal and external) to a specific extension, what is the best way to do it? I set IDC but it can block DID calls from SP, but hows about internal calls?
thanks.

I'm not certain that you will be able to ever block an extension from receiving incoming calls.

What I would do is the change the DN to something that is completly different to the normal numbering plan and the DN length can be up to 7 digits long. This would make it tricky for anyone to find it.

Another option would be to have a permament call forward set to either voicemail or operator etc.

If the set is a digital one, then the key could be set to a SCN (xxN = non ringing phone number). All that would happen is the DN key would flash.

What release of software are you on, on the later releases you could employ number zones. Put that extension in a separate numzone to the rest of the extensions and then you would not be able to call it unless you added config to allow it. Problem with this is you need to add a numzone prefix and then alter all your extensions to include the prefix.

Other option i guess is multi tenant.

thanks your guys! the information really help!
