I read once somewhere that apache can be configured to include a file at the start or end of all pages. I was wondering how this can be configured and if it can be done through an htaccess file.

Yes, it can include a header ( see [tt]HeaderName[/tt] ) and a footer ( see [tt]ReadmeName[/tt] ) into the generated index pages.

If you want to include them in all pages, or want to include more than just header and footer, then you will need SSI ( Server Side Includes ). In that case start with the "Apache Tutorial: Introduction to Server Side Includes".
