My application refuses to see my adovbs.inc file

<!-- #include file ="Include/adovbs.inc"-->

I don't understand why. It used to see it. I turn it on today and it doesn't find it anymore

I tried putting it in the same directory as the asp page trying to access it.

That didn't work either.

what now??????? How much more water would there be in the ocean if it weren't for sponges?

yes, i should have mentioned, that i did remember to do that, but it still doesn't work. arrgh!!!

But even so, why won't it see <!-- #include file="include/adovbs.inc"-->?

That's exactly where the file is - i've checked and double checked the syntax, but it doesn't think it's there.

I realize that this is kind of an outdated way to do this and i'm thinking of scrapping the whole @#$! thing in favor of the metadata tag in the global.asp file....

but it's the principle of the thing - it SHOULD and DID work but doesn't now.

Do you think it might have anything to do with the virtual directory on my server? i.e., does a virtual directory with read/execute/whatever rights have to be set up on the include folder? How much more water would there be in the ocean if it weren't for sponges?

If nothing else has changed, then I would start stopping and restarting services on the server in question.... sounds mysteriously like a service glitch to me.

If that doesn't work, then I would just reboot the whole thing.
